When PGA WEST® Club Membership Director Domenic Provenzano met professional golfer Michael Slesinski, 26, whose parents are PGA WEST® Members Mike and Sharon Slesinski, Domenic knew Michael had true talent. So much so that he offered to caddie for Michael at the 18-hole local U.S. Open Qualifier held at Bermuda Dunes Country Club this past May 9. Michael graduated from St. Mary’s College of California and turned pro in 2022.
“I love supporting young golfers and with his impressive resume and track record, I knew he was the real deal,” says Domenic, who is a PGA member/professional.
Michael emerged from the Bermuda Dunes golf tournament eligible to advance to one of the U.S. Open final qualifiers, this one held at the Dallas Athletic Club on May 20. Domenic once again joined him as his caddie. At the Dallas sectional, Michael vied for one of the 11 qualifying spots with 137 golfers including PGA Tour professionals Sergio Garcia, Nick Watney and J.B. Holmes.
“They literally call this 36-hole one-day event ‘the longest day in golf,’” Domenic notes, “Michael shot a 67 in the first round and 73 in the second round, finishing with a total score of 2 under par for the tournament. He missed the cut by just one stroke, as the cut was set at 3 under par.”
He continues: “As a lifelong golfer myself, it was so thrilling to represent our club and be part of such an experience with a genuine and talented young golfer. And our Club Members and PGA WEST® staff are so supportive as well.”

When not on tour and in La Quinta, Michael is coached by PGA WEST Golf Academy’s Director of Instruction Bryan Lebedevitch.
“Michael is a tremendous talent and hard worker. He is gifted in his ability to play the game at a very high level,” Bryan says. “I expect big things from Michael in the future as he pursues his dream of playing the PGA Tour.”
