February 4 is Medjool Date Day, which holds a particular significance for La Quinta, California and surrounding resort cities. Why? Because this region produces more than 80 percent of the nation’s dates. In fact, since 1947, the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival (Feb 16-25, 2024) has paid tribute to the annual date harvest.
